Safe and Sustainable by Design: Bridging Research and Industrial Practice
On 5 November 2026, SAFARI project partner ISQ will host a hybrid knowledge-transfer seminar and training session titled “Safe and Sustainable by Design: from research to industry” at their facilities in Porto Salvo, Portugal.
The event brings together experts to examine how the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework can move from policy principles into practical industrial application.

The programme addresses core sustainability and safety dimensions, including:
Human health, toxicology, and ecotoxicology
Occupational safety in production and laboratory environments
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and environmental footprinting
Economic and social sustainability factors
SAFARI Case Study Presentation
During the “SSbD in Practice” session, João Laranjeira from ISQ will present the SAFARI project as a primary case study, demonstrating how SSbD methodology is practically integrated and tested within project workflows.
