WHY SAFARI?

Overview

The SAFARI project is a 42-months research and innovation project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The project brings together a consortium of 11 partners from 8 European countries. SAFARI is also part of the Graphene Flagship’s initiative, which aims to develop sustainable and safe processes for the production of graphene and other 2D materials.

SAFARI answers key challenges holding back responsible innovation in 2D materials. We pursue sustainable solutions by:
 
  • Developing advanced MXene/graphene hybrids
  • Establishing non-toxic, scalable synthesis routes
  • Optimizing material properties for applications
  • Validating safety and environmental best practices
  • Fostering collaborative R&D networks
  • Disseminating knowledge
