Development of safe and sustainable production processes: The SAFARI project will be instrumental in developing new production processes for MXenes that are both safe and sustainable. Traditional methods of producing MXenes involve time-consuming and energy-intensive processes, as well as the use of harmful chemicals. The SAFARI project aims to overcome these challenges by developing alternative production methods and materials that are more efficient and environmentally friendly.
Improvement in material quality and controllability: Conventionally produced 2D MXenes often suffer from impurities and lack of control over the material size. The SAFARI project has focused on addressing these drawbacks by developing techniques to reduce impurities and improve the controllability of MXenes. This has resulted in the production of higher quality MXenes with improved properties.
Safety assessment of MXenes: As MXenes are a relatively new class of two-dimensional nanomaterials, it is crucial to assess their safety for human health and the environment. The SAFARI project will centralized to evaluate the safety aspects of MXenes, ensuring that they can be used in various applications without potential posing risks to human health or the environment
