Last week, the SAFARI project convened its 18-month General Assembly in Athens, Greece, hosted by Creative Nano. The event brought together partners from across Europe to review progress and coordinate the next steps in developing Safe and Sustainable by Design.
A key strength of SAFARI is its commitment to the SSbD framework, ensuring that both the products and their manufacturing processes are assessed for safety and environmental impact from the earliest stages of development. The consortium is developing innovative production methods that reduce the use of hazardous chemicals and improve the efficiency and purity of the resulting materials. This includes safer alternatives to traditional etching techniques and advanced functionalization processes to enhance the performance and compatibility of MXenes with graphene
The SAFARI project continues to drive responsible innovation in advanced materials, paving the way for safer, more sustainable technologies across sectors.
